المتين

Al-Matin

The Firm

Meaning

Al-Matin is the One whose strength is firm, stable, and unshakeable. While Al-Qawi refers to the magnitude of His power, Al-Matin refers to the steadfastness and reliability of that power — it never fluctuates, never wavers, and never fails. His firmness means His plans cannot be disrupted, His promises cannot be broken, and His grip cannot be loosened. The firmest mountain is like dust compared to His firmness. His religion is firm, His word is firm, and His rope (the Quran and Islam) is the firmest handhold that never breaks. When you hold onto Al-Matin, you are connected to the most stable force in all of existence — nothing can shake you loose from His protection.

In the Quran

Surah Adh-Dhariyat (51:58): "Indeed, it is Allah who is the Provider, the firm possessor of strength (Al-Matin)."

Daily Reflection

What do you hold onto for stability in life? Career, money, relationships? All of these can shake. Only holding onto Al-Matin provides true, unshakeable stability.

Today's Action

Strengthen your grip on the "firm handhold" today. Pray all five prayers on time, read Quran, and make dhikr. These are the ways we hold onto Al-Matin's unbreakable rope.

Dhikr

يا متين (Ya Matin)

Say it 100 times, seeking firmness and stability from Allah.

Dua

اللهم يا متين ثبتنا على دينك ولا تزغ قلوبنا بعد إذ هديتنا

O Allah, the Firm, keep us firm upon Your religion and do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us.
