الآخر

Al-Akhir

The Last

Meaning

Al-Akhir is the Last — He will remain after everything else perishes. When every star has burned out, when every galaxy has collapsed, when the heavens are folded up and the earth is leveled, Al-Akhir will remain. He has no end, no expiration, and no conclusion. Everything you know will end — your life, your loved ones, the earth, the sun, the universe — but Al-Akhir is eternal. This creates a profound perspective shift: why invest everything in what will end and neglect the One who will remain? The relationship with Al-Akhir is the only one that lasts forever. Every other attachment has an expiration date. Connecting with Him is investing in the only certainty in existence.

In the Quran

Surah Al-Hadid (57:3): "He is the First and the Last (Al-Akhir), the Manifest and the Hidden, and He is, of all things, Knowing."

Daily Reflection

Everything you are attached to will end. Only your relationship with Al-Akhir is eternal. Are you investing enough in the one relationship that will last forever?

Today's Action

End your day with Allah today. Before sleeping, make your last words dhikr and du'a. Let the Last thing on your tongue before sleep be His name.

Dhikr

يا آخر (Ya Akhir)

Say it 100 times, conscious that only Allah is eternal and everything else will pass.

Dua

اللهم يا آخر اجعل آخر أعمالنا خيرها وآخر أيامنا أحبها إليك

O Allah, the Last, make the last of our deeds the best of them and the last of our days the most beloved to You.
