العدل

Al-'Adl

The Just

Meaning

Al-'Adl is the One who is perfectly just in all His actions, decrees, and judgments. He never wrongs anyone, not even by the weight of an atom. Every test He sends, every blessing He gives, every decree He makes is infused with perfect justice — even when we cannot see it. His justice is not like human justice which is often imperfect and limited. Allah's justice takes into account every circumstance, every intention, every hidden factor. The full picture of His justice will become clear on the Day of Judgment when the scales are set and every soul will see that it was treated with complete fairness. Until then, we trust that Al-'Adl never wrongs His creation.

In the Quran

Surah An-Nisa (4:40): "Indeed, Allah does not do injustice, even as much as an atom's weight; while if there is a good deed, He multiplies it and gives from Himself a great reward."

Daily Reflection

When life seems unfair, can you trust that Al-'Adl's justice operates on a timeline you cannot see? What if the hardship you face is the just response to a prayer you forgot you made?

Today's Action

Practice justice in your daily life today. Pay someone fairly, give honest feedback, or stand up for someone being treated unfairly — even if it costs you.

Dhikr

يا عدل (Ya 'Adl)

Say it 100 times, trusting in Allah's perfect justice in all matters.

Dua

اللهم يا عدل اجعلنا من أهل العدل والإنصاف

O Allah, the Just, make us from the people of justice and equity.
