الكريم

Al-Karim

The Generous

Meaning

Al-Karim is the Most Generous, whose generosity knows no bounds, no conditions, and no limits. He gives without being asked, gives more than what is requested, and never withholds from anyone. His generosity is not like human generosity which decreases with giving — His treasures are never depleted. He gives to those who ask and to those who do not, to those who deserve and to those who do not, to believers and non-believers alike. When you ask Him for one thing, He gives you ten. When you take one step toward Him, He comes to you running. Al-Karim is also Noble — He overlooks faults, honors His guests, and never reminds you of His favors.

In the Quran

Surah Al-Infitar (82:6): "O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous (Al-Karim)?"

Daily Reflection

What has deceived you about Al-Karim's generosity? Have you limited your du'a because you thought your request was too big? His generosity has no ceiling.

Today's Action

Be generous in a way that stretches you today. Give something that costs you — your time, your money, your effort. Don't give from your surplus; give from what you need.

Dhikr

يا كريم (Ya Karim)

Say it 100 times, opening your heart to His boundless generosity.

Dua

اللهم يا كريم أكرمنا بطاعتك ولا تهنا بمعصيتك

O Allah, the Generous, honor us with Your obedience and do not disgrace us with Your disobedience.
