The Loving
Meaning
Al-Wadud is the One who loves and is loved, the source of all true love. His love is not passive — it is active, expressed through His blessings, His guidance, His forgiveness, and His care. He loves those who repent, those who purify themselves, those who do good, and those who place their trust in Him. The form "Wadud" indicates the most intense, affectionate, and active form of love. He loves you more than a mother loves her child. His love is not earned by perfection but by sincerity, effort, and the desire to be close to Him. When you feel unloved by the world, remember that the Lord of the worlds loves you with a love that surpasses all human affection.
In the Quran
Surah Hud (11:90): "And ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is Merciful and Loving (Al-Wadud)."
Daily Reflection
Do you feel loved by Allah? His love manifests in every breath you take, every blessing you receive, every time He draws you back to Him. Can you recognize His love?
Today's Action
Express love today — tell your family you love them, show compassion to a stranger, or do something purely out of love for Allah. Spread the love that comes from Al-Wadud.
