السلام

As-Salam

The Source of Peace

Meaning

As-Salam is the One who is free from all defects and the Source of all peace and safety. He greets the people of Paradise with "Salam" — peace. Every form of peace in the world traces back to Him: the peace of a calm heart, the safety of a secure home, the tranquility after a storm. When we greet each other with "Assalamu Alaikum," we are invoking this divine name, asking Allah to bestow His peace upon the other person. True inner peace cannot be found in wealth, status, or relationships — it is only found in connection with As-Salam.

In the Quran

Surah Al-Hashr (59:23): "He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Source of Peace, the Granter of Security."

Daily Reflection

Where in your life do you lack peace? Realize that only As-Salam can grant true tranquility. Have you been seeking peace from the wrong sources?

Today's Action

Make peace with someone today — resolve a conflict, apologize for a wrong, or simply spread salam to five people you normally would not greet.

Dhikr

يا سلام (Ya Salam)

Say it 100 times after Maghrib, seeking inner tranquility.

Dua

اللهم أنت السلام ومنك السلام تباركت يا ذا الجلال والإكرام

O Allah, You are Peace and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor.
