الوكيل

Al-Wakil

The Trustee

Meaning

Al-Wakil is the One to whom all affairs can be entrusted with complete confidence. He is the perfect Disposer of affairs, the ultimate Guardian who manages everything with wisdom and care. When you delegate a matter to Al-Wakil, it is in the best possible hands. He never forgets, never fails, never makes mistakes, and never acts against your true interest. The Prophet (peace be upon him) and his companions said "Hasbunallahu wa ni'mal-wakeel" — Allah is sufficient for us and the best Disposer of affairs — when facing overwhelming odds at the Battle of Uhud. This declaration transformed their fear into trust, their weakness into strength. Tawakkul (reliance on Allah) is not passive — it is actively doing your best and then trusting Al-Wakil with the outcome.

In the Quran

Surah Aal-Imran (3:173): "Those to whom people said: Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them. But it increased them in faith, and they said: Sufficient for us is Allah, and He is the best Disposer of affairs (Al-Wakil)."

Daily Reflection

What are you trying to control that you should be entrusting to Al-Wakil? True tawakkul means doing your best and leaving the results to Him.

Today's Action

Identify one matter that causes you anxiety. Do what is within your power regarding it, then consciously entrust the outcome to Al-Wakil. Say "tawakkaltu alallah" and mean it.

Dhikr

حسبي الله ونعم الوكيل (Hasbiyallahu wa ni'mal-wakeel)

Say it 100 times, entrusting your affairs to Allah.

Dua

اللهم يا وكيل توكلت عليك فاكفني ما أهمني

O Allah, the Trustee, I place my trust in You, so suffice me in what concerns me.
