Al-Muqtadir
The Powerful
Meaning
Al-Muqtadir intensifies the meaning of Al-Qadir — He is the One whose power is fully manifested and actively exercised. While Al-Qadir speaks of the potential to do all things, Al-Muqtadir speaks of power in action, power demonstrated, power that shapes reality at every moment. His power is manifested in the precision of planetary orbits, in the complexity of DNA, in the turning of seasons, and in the rise and fall of civilizations. Every natural law is His power in action. Every miracle is His power overriding those laws. He is not a passive power waiting to be used — He is active power constantly creating, sustaining, and governing every detail of existence.
In the Quran
Surah Al-Qamar (54:55): "In a seat of honor near a Sovereign, Perfect in Ability (Muqtadir)."
Daily Reflection
When you see the precision of nature — the exact tilt of the earth, the exact distance from the sun — do you see the power of Al-Muqtadir actively at work?

Exercise your power for good today. Use whatever ability Allah has given you — your voice, your wealth, your skill — to make a positive difference. Power is a trust.
