Al-Muta'ali
The Most Exalted
Meaning
Al-Muta'ali is the One who is supremely exalted above everything — above all creation, above all descriptions, above all human conceptions, and above any attributes that creation might ascribe to Him. He is higher than the highest, greater than the greatest, and more transcendent than the most exalted imagination. No matter how much we elevate our concept of Allah, He is still higher. This name is a constant corrective to our limited understanding — whenever we think we have understood Him, Al-Muta'ali reminds us that He transcends our understanding. His exaltedness is not merely positional but encompasses every dimension of perfection, grandeur, and supremacy.
In the Quran
Surah Ar-Ra'd (13:9): "The Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, the Grand, the Exalted (Al-Muta'ali)."
Daily Reflection
No matter how much you know about Allah, He is far more exalted than your understanding. Does this humility inspire awe and a desire to know Him more?
Today's Action
Elevate your worship today. If you usually pray the minimum, add more. If your du'a is routine, make it heartfelt. Raise the quality of your worship to match your awareness of Al-Muta'ali.

سبحان ربي المتعال (Subhana Rabbiyal-Muta'al)
Say it 100 times, acknowledging that Allah is above all understanding.
