Ar-Rafi'
The Exalter
Meaning
Ar-Rafi' is the One who raises and elevates. He elevates the status of believers, raises those who are humble, lifts the ranks of the righteous, and exalts whomever He wills. He raised the Prophet (peace be upon him) to the highest station among all creation. He raises some nations above others, some individuals above others — not by worldly measures but by their faith and righteousness. Allah tells us He raises those who believe and those who are given knowledge by degrees. True elevation comes not from wealth or fame but from taqwa, knowledge, and service to others. Ar-Rafi' sees the quiet acts of worship that no one else notices and elevates their doers.
In the Quran
Surah Al-Mujadilah (58:11): "Allah will raise those who have believed among you and those who were given knowledge, by degrees."
