المعز
Al-Mu'izz
The Honorer
Meaning
Al-Mu'izz is the One who bestows true honor and dignity. All real honor comes from Him alone — not from wealth, lineage, position, or popularity. He honored the Prophet (peace be upon him) who was an orphan, He honored Bilal who was a slave, He honored the early Muslims who were persecuted outcasts. The world's standards of honor are temporary and shallow, but the honor that Al-Mu'izz grants is permanent and profound. When you seek honor from people, you become their slave; when you seek honor from Allah, you become free. He can elevate the most unknown person to a station of honor that kings would envy, and He can strip the most decorated person of all dignity.
In the Quran
Surah Aal-Imran (3:26): "Say: O Allah, Owner of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will."
Daily Reflection
Whose approval are you seeking — people's or Allah's? True honor from Al-Mu'izz comes through obedience to Him, not through impressing others.
Today's Action
Honor someone who is often overlooked today — a cleaner, a security guard, a server. Treat them with the dignity that Al-Mu'izz grants to all human beings.
Dhikr
يا معز (Ya Mu'izz)
Say it 100 times, seeking honor and dignity from Allah alone.
Dua
اللهم يا معز أعزنا بالإسلام وأعز الإسلام بنا
O Allah, the Honorer, honor us through Islam and honor Islam through us.
