البصير

Al-Basir

The All-Seeing

Meaning

Al-Basir is the One who sees everything — the visible and the invisible, the public and the private, the great and the minute. He sees the black ant on a dark rock on a moonless night. He sees the tears you shed alone when no one is watching. He sees the charity you give in secret. He sees the injustice happening in hidden places. His sight encompasses all of existence simultaneously without confusion or distraction. This name provides both accountability and comfort: accountability because we cannot hide our actions from Him, and comfort because our good deeds done in secret, our silent struggles, and our hidden pain are all seen and valued by Al-Basir.

In the Quran

Surah Al-Isra (17:1): "Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al-Aqsa... Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing."

Daily Reflection

If you truly believed Al-Basir sees everything you do, what would you change? And what secret good deed would you feel valued for, knowing He sees it?

Today's Action

Do a completely secret good deed today — one that no human will ever know about. Give anonymous charity or pray extra prayers when no one is watching.

Dhikr

يا بصير (Ya Basir)

Say it 100 times, conscious that He sees all your actions.

Dua

اللهم يا بصير بصّرني بعيوبي وأرني الحق حقًا وارزقني اتباعه

O Allah, the All-Seeing, show me my faults and show me the truth as truth and grant me to follow it.
