Al-Mubdi'
The Originator
Meaning
Al-Mubdi' is the One who originates creation from nothing, without any prior model, template, or material. He brought everything into existence when nothing existed before — no matter, no energy, no space, no time. Every species, every system, every law of nature was originated by Him without precedent. He did not copy or imitate — He originated. This creative origination continues as He brings new souls into existence, new species through His will, and new phenomena through His command. The Big Bang itself, the origin of the universe that scientists study, is merely one expression of Al-Mubdi's originating power. He says "Be" and it is — this is the ultimate origination, creation by pure divine will.
In the Quran
Surah Al-Buruj (85:13): "Indeed, it is He who originates (creation) and repeats."
Daily Reflection
Everything around you was originated by Al-Mubdi' from nothing. When you feel limited by resources or circumstances, remember that He creates from nothing. What might He originate for you?
