الواحد

Al-Wahid

The One

Meaning

Al-Wahid is the One and Only — unique in His essence, attributes, and actions. There is nothing comparable to Him, nothing equal to Him, and nothing that shares in His divinity. His oneness is the foundation of Islam (Tawhid) and the core message of every prophet. Al-Wahid has no partner, no rival, no competitor. His oneness means your du'a goes to one place, your trust rests on one foundation, and your worship has one direction. This simplifies life profoundly — instead of trying to please many gods or many masters, you serve only One. When you truly internalize Tawhid, it liberates you from every form of slavery except servitude to the One who created you.

In the Quran

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:163): "And your god is one God (Wahid). There is no deity except Him, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful."

Daily Reflection

Is there anything in your life that competes with Allah for your devotion? Wealth, status, approval? True Tawhid means Al-Wahid has no rival in your heart.

Today's Action

Purify your intentions today. Before each action, ask yourself: "Am I doing this for Allah alone?" Remove any hidden shirk (associating partners) in your intentions.

Dhikr

لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له (La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah)

Say it 100 times, affirming His absolute oneness.

Dua

اللهم يا واحد وحّد قلبي على محبتك ولا تجعل في قلبي شريكًا سواك

O Allah, the One, unite my heart upon Your love and place no rival in my heart besides You.
