Meaning
Ar-Rashid is the One who guides everything to its proper course with perfect wisdom and direction. His guidance is always right, always wise, and always leads to the best outcome. While Al-Hadi guides in general, Ar-Rashid specifically ensures that the guidance leads to the most correct and beneficial path. His management of the universe is rashid — directed with perfect wisdom toward the best possible outcome. Every event, every test, every decree moves creation toward its divinely ordained purpose. When we seek rushd (right guidance), we ask Ar-Rashid to show us not just any path, but the best path — the path that leads to His pleasure and our ultimate success in both worlds.
In the Quran
Surah Al-Kahf (18:10): "Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance (rashada)."
